In this two-part workshop, Michif artists and hide tanners Claire Johnston and Christel Lanthier will guide participants in making their own fish leather using black tea and pickerel skins supplied by traditional Métis fishers in St. Laurent, MB.

In the second workshop, participants will create their own small fish skin wallet using their handmade fish leather. Claire and Christel will speak about their connection to fish as Métis people and explore how to be in good relation with the Land through harvesting and material art.
