Sunset Bunkie - Cabane Soleil

About our Bunkie-Cabane:

A cozy little place to stay on the farm, our bunkie is a 95 square feet mini ‘cabane’ which faces west and promises epic sunsets. if you are lucky, at the right time of the season you can up to sheep grazing just a few feet from the front deck, while you sip your morning coffee. Indoors, the bunkie is outfitted with a bunk bed, pop up table, reading chair and bench with storage. The walk up to the bunkie’s sunset deck has 3 stairs to get up, and you are welcomed by a little deck table and chairs. Inside, the bunk bed includes wool bedding and pillows, and the top bunk is accessible by a ladder.

The bunkie does not have running water but has a small kitchenette that includes the following:

-A 3gal filtered water jug (refilled as needed)

-A small refrigerator

-A hot plate for cooking

-Pots, pans, cooking tools and utensils plates and bowls

-A coffee bodum

-A dish-tub, soap and drying towels

Our bunkie does not have a washroom or shower but is a short walk away from a outhouse and an outdoor shower (weather pending)

The Bunkie also includes a heater for cooler days, as well as a fan for the warmer days as needed. It is equipped with 10amp electrical outlets and is WiFi accessible. There is also a parking spot near the cabin for one vehicle.

Please note that 5g cellular service is spotty at the Farm in general.

Outside the cabin there is a picnic table provided as well as a small fire-pit available with a set amount of firewood per day as long as fires are permitted by municipal law (ie. no fire ban)

Items you should you bring:

-Food and drink required for your stay (water is provided)

-Towels and any other linens required beyond bed linens.

-A flashlight

-Personal gear (clothing, swimsuit, towels, accessories, toiletries, slippers/indoor shoes, outdoor shoes)

-Personal safety items (whistle, first aid kit, sunscreen, bug repellant, matches/lighter, rope).

-Personal care items.

-Any other personal supplies needed.

Things to keep in mind:

FOOD: Cooking food may only be done outside on the firepit or inside on the hotplate. All food should be stored inside the small bar fridge, in a provided bin indoors, in the vehicle or in a wildlife-proof locker. Please do not leave food unattended outside.

FIRE: Be aware of any restrictions our location may have (ie: fire ban). Buy and burn local firewood, not deadfall or surrounding trees. Firewood is provided but also extra wood can be purchased upon request.

RESPECT: Respect nature. Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but pictures! Please be respectful and maintain reasonable noise levels. Please leave your accommodation and site as tidy as you found it. 

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Please remove dirty footwear upon entering the Bunkie (bring slippers/clean shoes for inside if you wish). 

• Maximum occupancy of 2 people. 

• Smoking is not permitted inside or around the Bunkie and will result in a forfeit of your damage deposit.

• Pets are not permitted. 

• Plan ahead for weather, cooler days and warmer days as this accommodation is only heated by a small heater or cooled by a fan. Air conditioning is not available.

• No refunds for single night reservations. Refunds for multiple night reservations will be subject to 100$.

Cost and Availibility

Fees: 70$ per night (extra firewood 10$ per bundle)

The Sunset Bunkie can acomodate a maximum of 2 people.

Please note that cabin is currently walk up access only and has 3 stairs up the deck to enter. We are always working towards accessibility and are working on solutions to this limitation.
